Marketplace Roundup: AS Roma Signs Italian Telecom Linkem To €2M Sponsorship

Serie A side AS Roma "entered into a commercial partnership with Linkem." The telecom will have a "strong brand presence" at the club's home ground, the Stadio Olimpico. Roma is "currently without a front-of-shirt sponsor" but Linkem will not fulfill that role. According to Italian outlet Il Tempo, Roma is "thought to be earning" €2M ($2.1M) per year from the Linkem deal (SPORTS PRO MEDIA, 1/3).

Telecom Vodafone has "come onboard as the title sponsor" of the Premier Badminton League. The fortnight-long event "will see six teams fight for" the Rs 6 crore ($883,000) prize purse, the highest for any badminton tournament in the world (THE SPORTS CAMPUS, 12/31).

Chang Beer and Singtel Media jointly organized a Football Night Fever live screening "to mark Chang Beer’s sponsorship" of the '16-17 Premier League season. The event screened the "clash" between Man City and Chelsea. Chang Beer is the "latest broadcast sponsor to come on board" Singtel TV for the '16-17 EPL season. With the addition of Chang Beer, this brings the number of Premier League sponsors to five (MARKETING-INTERACTIVE, 1/3).
