The Islamic Republic of Iran Basketball Federation proposed an apparel to the sport's int'l governing body "which would allow Muslim athletes to attend official games while observing the Islamic dress code." The IRIBF submitted the proposed outfit, which covers the hair and limbs of athletes, to FIBA on Friday after FIBA authorities set a deadline of Dec. 31 for Iranian basketball officials to "present the kit that would suit their personal and religious preferences" (ALBAWABA, 12/31).

Ten years after she was stripped of a medal for failing a "gender test" during the Doha Asian Games, former athlete Santhi Soundarajan is "set to file a human rights violation case against the authorities, including Athletics Federation of India and Indian Olympic Association." For the first time in Indian boxing, the position of chief coach "will have two occupants with Dronacharya awardee S.R. Singh and former sub-junior women's coach Shiv Singh granted charge of two separate camps in Patiala and Aurangabad." The duo replaces Gurbax Singh Sandhu, "who was handed the reins of women's boxing after spending more than two decades as the men's chief coach."
