Marketplace Roundup: Bayern Munich Partners With Vöhringer Wood Product

Bayern Munich announced a regional partnership in China with Vöhringer Wood Product. The three-year partnership through '19 covers the use of brand image rights among other things. Vöhringer will also undertake trading activities in China and advertising campaigns with Bayern Munich on several media channels including TV across the country (Bayern Munich).

Telecom Ooredoo was named an official sponsor of the Qatar ExxonMobil Open 2017, which started Sunday and will run through Jan. 7. It is the fifth year that Ooredoo has supported the event and the 25th anniversary of the Qatar ExxonMobil Open contest. As the telecom partner for the event, Ooredoo is providing media areas and offices with global connectivity and supporting visitors and fans with 3G, 4G and 4G+ broadband services on the Ooredoo Supernet (GULF TIMES, 1/1).

Belgian top-tier side Excel Mouscron announced two new sponsors for ’17. Italian company OMP and Belgian human resources firm Group S both signed on with the club for three seasons. No financial details were released (Excel Mouscron).

Real Madrid's James Rodríguez was named a brand ambassador for Libertex, a financial markets trading platform (Libertex).

One of Scotland's "brightest" boxing prospects "could be denied the chance of glory through lack of sponsorship." Willie Hutchison became the first Scot to be crowned World Youth Champion in Russia in November, adding to his European title. But the 18-year-old's trainer believes "a lack of sponsor cash could be the undoing of the brilliant middleweight, who is now weighing up professional contracts that would deny him a tilt at Commonwealth and Olympic titles." Hutchison said, "I'm the first Scottish amateur world champion and I can't get a sponsor -- I find it a bit mindboggling" (Scotland DAILY RECORD, 12/28).
