Tottenham's New Stadium Will Have Better Atmosphere Than Arsenal's, Club Dir Says

Tottenham Dir Donna-Maria Cullen believes "the club's new home will have a better atmosphere than Arsenal's Emirates Stadium," according to Tom Dutton of the London EVENING STANDARD. The club will move into its new 61,000-capacity ground at the beginning of the '18-19 season. The £400M ($491.5M) facility is being built next to Tottenham's White Hart Lane ground. Cullen said that Tottenham has "learnt lessons" from rival Arsenal as the club attempts to optimize atmosphere at its new home. Cullen: "The atmosphere of an enclosure depends very much on its architecture. We work to optimize that in the new stadium, working especially with the team that manages the acoustics of U2 concerts. That is why, for example, the corners of the stadium will be closed, unlike the Emirates. ... In our stadium, the pitch will be five meters closer to the fans than it is at the Emirates" (EVENING STANDARD, 12/29).
