Pakistan Cricket Board Chair Shahryar Khan said that there is "no chance" of a cricket series with India until "political ties between the two countries improve." Khan said that a cricket series between the two neighbors is “directly connected with the political and diplomatic relations” between the governments of Pakistan and India. He said, "Let me say it very categorically, there is no chance of a Pakistan vs. India bilateral series unless the political ties between the two counties are improved. But as soon as political tension is defused, cricket will automatically resume" (HINDUSTAN TIMES, 12/28).
Mubadala Development Company, an Abu Dhabi-based investment and development group, announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with the UAE Disabled Sports Federation which "expands and strengthens Mubadala’s community outreach programme." This long-term partnership "follows Mubadala’s sponsorship of the UAE Paralympian team, which achieved a total of seven medals in Rio de Janeiro." Mubadala will support UAEDSF on "all of its initiatives including local and international sports tournaments and workshops" (ALBAWABA, 12/27).
