Event Notes: British Biathlon Union To Boycott 2017 IBU World Cup

The British Biathlon Union announced its decision to boycott the 2017 Int'l Biathlon Union World Cup in the Russian city of Tyumen in March. In a statement, the BBU said, "The IBU was informed late on Monday 19 December that The Board of the British Biathlon Union had taken the unanimous decision that GBR will not compete at the BWC 8 in Tyumen March 2017" (TASS, 12/21).

Istanbul has been selected to host the 2017 UEFA Regions' Cup from July 1-9, with the draw on March 2 at the Turkish Football Federation HQ. The home side will be joined by teams from Croatia, the Czech Republic, Portugal, Ireland, Russia, Spain and Ukraine next June as they compete for the European amateur title (UEFA).
