Financial Notes: GAA Announced $7.3M Will Be Provided To Players Over Next Three Years

The Gaelic Athletic Association announced that €6.9M ($7.3M) "will be provided to inter-county hurlers and footballers over the next three seasons." As with previous agreements, Sport Ireland will provide the funding to the GAA, which will then work with the Gaelic Players Association for "the appropriate disbursement" of the money to the players. Funding of €1.6M ($1.7M) will be provided in '17, increasing to €2.3M ($2.4M) in '18 and €3M ($3.2M) in '19 (IRISH INDEPENDENT, 12/14).

Daily fantasy sports operator and B2B provider "Oulala closed new funding round" of €1.35M ($1.42M), coming from private investors. Oulala "will use the raised funds to gain more traction on the B2B landscape, and to strenghten its leading position as the first DFS network specialised in European football." The Malta-based company "had to restructure its Sales/Business development department by appointing two senior collaborators." Former Marathonbet Business Development Manager Oliver Niner, will take on the role of business development director. Anthony Medica, previously linked with Summit of iGaming Malta and Sports Betting Community, will become a sales director. During the next 12 months, Oulala will "mainly focus on expanding its network with iGaming operators." The company will officialize new partnerships in the first quarter of '17 (CASINO NEWS, 12/14).
