Marketplace Roundup: FC Basel Renews Shirt Sponsorship Deal With Novartis Until '21

Swiss Super League side FC Basel has extended its shirt sponsorship deal with Novartis for another four years until '21. The pharmaceutical company has been the club's shirt partner since '04. Both parties agreed to not disclose any financial details. The current deal was set to expire at the end of the '16-17 season (FC Basel).

Bundesliga club Eintracht Frankfurt has renewed its sponsorship deal with Mainova for another two years. The energy provider will remain a partner of the club until the end of the '18-19 season. Mainova has been a partner of the club since '02. The deal was brokered by marketing agency Lagardère Sports (Eintracht Frankfurt).

The Bundesliga will enter the '17-18 season with a new brand look. Its logo, which has been in use since '03, will be modified slightly to accommodate digitization requirements. Bundesliga 2 will be gaining a logo of its own to position it more clearly in its relations with fans, the media and sponsors. The German Football League (DFL) will also have its own logo for the first time (Bundesliga).

British Swimming announced that apparel maker TYR will become the official kit supplier for all of England Programmes’ athletes. The eight-year deal was confirmed in Canada following the conclusion of the World Short Course Championships. The sponsorship deal includes all athletes on the English talent pathway, and those competing for England. It also includes athletes in equivalent programs run by Scottish Swimming and Swim Wales (British Swimming).

Porsche will remain the title sponsor of the European Open, the European Tour event which is held annually in Germany, through '20. As well as the extension of the title partnership, a new venue was also announced for the third edition of the tournament: the '17 event will take place on the Nord Course at Green Eagle from July 26-30 (European Open).
