Media Notes: Fox Sports Signs Multi-Year Partnership With West African Football Union

Fox Sports signed a new multi-year partnership with the West African Football Union Zones A and B, providing investment into infrastructure and development across 16 countries. The deal will make Fox Sports the home for West Zone A and West Zone B football. It will also ensure that for the first time every Zone West A Cup and Zone West B Cup match will be broadcast across Africa (Fox Sports).

BT Sport "will show its first live football match in Ultra HD and Dolby Atmos sound" on Jan. 31. Featuring Liverpool and Chelsea playing at Anfield, it will be the first time a U.K. broadcaster has used Dolby Atmos sound. BT plans "to make every subsequent Premier League match broadcast live, as well as a selection of FA Cup games," also available in Ultra HD and Dolby Atmos (BROADBAND TV NEWS, 12/9).

William Hill and The Racing Partnership agreed to a "long-term media rights deal." William Hill "will buy betting shop media rights directly from TRP, which represents 15 Arena Racing Company-owned racecourses and seven independent racecourses." This is the first time the company "has purchased media rights directly from racecourses rather than via an intermediary." The deal will commence Jan. 1 (SBC NEWS, 12/8).
