Bundesliga Club Hertha Berlin Reports €8M Loss For '15-16 Season

Bundesliga side Hertha Berlin reported a loss of close to €8M for the '15-16 season. With revenue of €95.2M opposite expenditure of €103M, the German side reported a loss of €7.8M. In comparison to '14-15, the loss increased slightly by €200,000 from €7.6M. Revenue of €88.5M stood opposite of €96.1M in '14-15. Hertha Finance Dir Ingo Schiller said that the main reasons for the increased expenditures are player transfers and early contract extensions. The club also had to pay higher bonus payments due to its unexpected on-field success, where it reached the DFB-Pokal (German Cup) semifinal, as well as finishing seventh in the league standings (Hertha Berlin).
