Media Notes: German Court Convicts Two For Illegally Streaming Bundesliga Coverage

The district court of Tauberbischofsheim, Germany, has convicted two Germans for illegal live-streaming of Bundesliga coverage from pay-TV broadcaster Sky Deutschland. On "grounds of five proven copyright violations" in '14, a 28-year old man from federal state Baden-Württemberg was sentenced to a one-year prison sentence on probation. The other person, a 28-year old man from Saxony, was sentenced to a fine (BROADBAND TV NEWS, 11/24).

Indonesian football club Arema Cronus, which is based in Malang, East Java, has launched an application called "Arema Access," designed to help its fans "access all information about the team, purchase club merchandise and meet its superstars." The application was developed by payment service company PayAccess (JAKARTA GLOBE, 11/27).

Video game Pelé: Soccer Legend, available via an app, can "now be played on the web following a deal between cross-platform game publisher Poki and game maker Cosi Games." It features Pelé with players "following a career pathway that works up from the backstreets of Brazil to becoming world champion" (INSIDE WORLD FOOTBALL, 11/24).
