Marketplace Roundup: French Professional Football League Renews With FC Miami City

The French Professional Football League (LFP) announced a three-year extension of its strategic partnership with fourth-tier U.S. club FC Miami City. The partnership started in ’15, and has allowed the LFP to promote Ligue 1 in the U.S. Through the partnership, FC Miami City is able to send academy and first-team players to train in France (LFP).

Ligue 1 side OGC Nice and Nice-based Starlight, via its Airton brand, announced a partnership for the remainder of the ’16-17 season. French air-conditioning company Airton’s logo will be seen on the sleeve of Nice’s home and away jerseys until the end of the season. Airton will also benefit from brand visibility on LED boards at Nice’s Allianz Riviera stadium and on press conference and interview backdrops (Nice).

Ligue 1 side Montpellier announced it extended its partnership with kit provider Nike until ’26. Nike has been the official provider of the club since ’00. No financial details were released (Montpellier).

Leicester City and Toyo Tires will continue their partnership for a third consecutive season. The club teamed up with the tire manufacturer at the start of the '14-15 campaign. Toyo Tires will continue to receive advertising space at King Power Stadium, as well as branding on the club’s first team training wear (Leicester).

Red Bull Racing will continue to race with Tag Heuer-branded engines until at least the end of the '18 F1 season. The power units are supplied by Renault, which "has its own works team and will also provide engines to Red Bull-owned Toro Rosso next year" (REUTERS, 11/25).

Australian netball side Queensland Firebirds signed a new partnership with The Coffee Club, which is set to launch the team into the '16 season. The sponsorship deal will see The Coffee Club become the naming rights sponsor of the Queensland Firebirds and will also become the official ball partner of the ANZ Championships through an additional partnership with the league. As part of the new sponsorship with The Coffee Club, the Firebirds will sport a newly branded on-court apparel, and team kit with a new The Coffee Club logo (Queensland Firebirds).

Infront Sports & Media is collaborating with the organizing committee of Antholz to handle the full commercialization of the marketing and sponsorship rights to the IBU World Championships Biathlon 2020 in Antholz, Italy. The announcement follows Infront’s contract extension with the IBU in the spring (Infront).
 
Story Contracting, a family-owned infrastructure company operating in rail, plant hire and construction across North England and Scotland, has become an official sponsor of Pro12 rugby side Glasgow Warriors. Story Contracting will be the club’s official rail engineering partner. As part of the five-year contract, the Story Contracting logo will be featured on the right arm of the Warriors shirt (Glasgow Warriors).

Real Madrid announced a sponsorship agreement with betting firm Codere Apuestas, a deal which sees Codere become the club’s official betting partner through ’19 (Real Madrid).
