League Notes: New Zealand Rugby Staff Moves Out Of Earthquake Danger Zone

New Zealand Rugby's Wellington staff have "moved into temporary digs at Westpac Stadium." NZR's Molesworth St. offices "are in the danger zone around a condemned building that was severely structurally damaged during last Monday's 7.8 magnitude earthquake." NZR CEO Steve Tew said that his staff "were a resilient bunch who would make do." The NZR office block has been "deemed structurally sound," but Tew said that "it was not known when staff may be able to move back in" (STUFF, 11/21).

FIBA gave permission on Thursday for a female Muslim basketball player to "wear her headscarf while playing." The federation announced that 18-year-old Noha Berhan, who plays for Stockholm-based amateur league team Huddinge, "would be allowed to wear a hijab during her matches." Thursday's decision "will be valid" until the end of January (DAILY SABAH, 11/17).
