Backers Launch Social Media Accounts For Seven-Time F1 Champ Schumacher

The management team of seven-time F1 world champion Michael Schumacher "has launched official Facebook and Instagram accounts for the 47-year-old," according to the SID. Both accounts went live on Sunday, 22 years to date after Schumacher claimed his maiden world title in '94. A Twitter account "is set to launch at a later date." The social media accounts "will function as a platform for fans." Schumacher Manager Sabine Kehm: "The sites are a thank you to the fans for their long-term loyalty and concern. Many have been unsure, what and where they can voice their thoughts." After an initial test phase that started on Oct. 25, the official Facebook page already has 1.2 million followers. Schumacher suffered a bad accident while skiing in the French Alps almost three years ago. He has been in treatment at his Swiss home since Sept. ‘14. There is no detailed information about his condition (SID, 11/13).
