Marketplace Roundup: England & Wales Cricket Board Signs Three-Year Deal With Catapult

The England & Wales Cricket Board agreed to a three-year partnership with athlete analytics company Catapult to work together in providing England cricketers with the best scientific support. Under the partnership, England players -- men and women -- will benefit from Catapult's technology, of which the most familiar are the micro-sensors which players wear underneath their shirts. The system provides the England players and conditioning coaches with a full picture of physical performance during practice and matches. The relationship also includes cricket-specific data science that has been developed by Catapult's specialists, in collaboration with the ECB's innovation team (ECB).

Ligue 1 side Girondins de Bordeaux “found a partner for its left sleeve with the arrival of Heartprotekt until June ’18.” The company “specializes in innovative and smart solutions in the area of life-saving aid” (SPORTBUZZ BUSINESS, 11/9).

Traditional Australian Football League jumpers have been given a makeover for the new women's league. The eight teams in the new competition -- Adelaide, Brisbane, Carlton, Collingwood, Fremantle, Melbourne, Western Bulldogs and GWS Giants -- "unveiled their playing kit in Melbourne this morning." Developed in partnership with a working group of AFLW players including Daisy Pearce, Lauren Arnell and Aasta O’Connor, the COAR apparel "has been created by women for women, with the fit specifically designed to complement the female form and enhance player performance" (HERALD SUN, 11/9).

Australian Football League side St. Kilda teamed up with high performance sports apparel supplier BLK for the '17 season and beyond. As part of the three-year partnership BLK will supply a range of apparel items, which includes on- and off-field apparel for players and officials, in addition to official supporter merchandise. The range will include jerseys, polos and training apparel such as t-shirts and shorts (St. Kilda).
