Media Notes: Premier Sports To Show Northern Ireland Home Friendlies

The Irish FA announced a new broadcast deal with Premier Sports that "will allow the channel to show all of Northern Ireland's home friendlies over the next two years." The deal grants Premier Sports exclusivity for all the home friendlies, starting with the match against Croatia on Nov. 15. Premier Sports operates via Sky channels 428 and 462, Virgin channel 551 and via the Premier Player online (BELFAST LIVE, 11/8).

Tata Communications and Constantin Medien announced the creation of a new media hub in Germany. It will offer content delivery, management, storage and computing services for businesses in media, sports, gaming and music industries across German-speaking countries in Europe. The deal enables Tata Communications to target media customers in Germany, Switzerland and Austria by using Constantin Medien as its preferred channel to these markets, and to offer Constantin Medien's full service portfolio to its media customers around the world through the new media hub (Constantin Medien).

BeIN Sports announced that on Dec. 1 the channel will broadcast a “live debate between the three French Tennis Federation (FFT) presidential candidates.” FFT VP Jean-Pierre Dartevelle, Tennis Club de Paris VP Alexis Gramblat and FFT General Secretary Bernard Guidicelli, the three candidates “vying to succeed Jean Gachassin,” will be given the “opportunity to present viewers their bid and express their presidential ambitions ahead of the election in February” (L’ÉQUIPE, 11/9).
