Tokyo 2020 Announces New Nationwide Participation Program

The Tokyo 2020 Organizing Committee launched the Tokyo 2020 Nationwide Participation Program, kicking off a series of public events aimed at building public support. The program will consist of the following two elements:
  • The Tokyo 2020 Official Program: this will include officially authorized Tokyo 2020 events organized by the national government, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government or a municipal authority within the Tokyo area, official sponsors of the Organizing Committee, the IOC, the IPC, the Japanese Olympic Committee, the Japanese Paralympic Committee, authorized broadcasters, and local public bodies that own and operate competition venues.
  • The Tokyo 2020 Support Program: this will include authorized Tokyo 2020 Games-related events conducted by non-commercial organizations aiming to engage as many people as possible.
In support of the new programs, Tokyo 2020 has created four new logos; one for Olympic only official events, one for Paralympic only official events, one for both and one for the Support Program (Tokyo 2020).

PARIS 2024 ADDS PARTNER: The Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games Bid Committee signed a partnership agreement with the Yunus Centre -- a global resource center for social business-related activities founded by 2006 Nobel Peace Prize winner Muhammad Yunus (Paris 2024).
