Fox, Turner Reportedly To Pay $120M-$200M A Year For Rights To Argentine Football

Argentina's Fútbol Para Todos TV program "will die on Jan. 1," according to González & Czyz of LA NACION. Millions of Argentine fans "are asking how they will watch their team on TV." The "first answer is that they will have to pay." The "stage is changing and experiencing modifications every week, because meetings are taking place and there is still no signed contract." The "most likely outcome" is that it will be a "great Christmas present" for the Argentine FA and the clubs: two broadcasters, Turner and Fox, "will come together and pay for the rights." They will pay between 1.8B Argentine pesos ($120M) and 3B Argentine pesos ($200M) per year from '17-19. Cablevisión, DirecTV and other cable operators "will be in charge of distributing the content." One source said that production would "almost certainly" be provided by Torneos (LA NACION, 11/6).
