The FA of Zambia announced it will "back self-confessed thief Kalusha Bwalya for the position of council member at the congress in March next year." Kalusha is on record soliciting and accepting a $80,000 bribe from "disgraced" former FIFA VP Mohammed Bin Hammam which he claims was a debt on behalf of FAZ. That money "has never been seen or recorded anywhere in the FAZ financial books." Football across Uruguay "has been suspended after a man who was shot by rival supporters two months ago lost his fight for life." Peñarol fan Hernan Fioritto, 21, was celebrating his team's 125th anniversary with two friends in September "when the trio were set upon by fans of Nacional who attempted to steal their club scarves." The BBC, citing Uruguayan newspaper reports, reported 15 men "are being held in prison and are accused of homicide" (London DAILY MIRROR, 11/6).
