Liga MX Side Chiapas Owner Weighing Offer From San Luis Government, Atlético Madrid

An organization that includes the involvement of the San Luis, Mexico, state government and La Liga side Atlético Madrid "is reportedly interested in acquiring Liga MX side Jaguares de Chiapas and moving it to San Luis Potosí," according to José María Garrido of MEDIO TIEMPO. Sources familiar with the organization eyeing Chiapas, "who requested anonymity," confirmed the news. The franchise previously played in San Luis Potosí before moving to Chiapas. The club's owner, the López Chargoy family, "has expressed since its last season its intention to sell the team." The new negotiations, "which are reportedly at an advanced stage," include the possibility of Atlético forward Fernando Torres signing with the team (MEDIO TIEMPO, 11/2).
