Former Head Of Spanish Hoops Federation Spent €737,746 At Restaurants, Audit Reveals

Former Spanish Basketball Federation (FEB) President José Luis Sáez "is again involved in a controversy" after a Madrid court opened a case against him for undue appropriation and unethical administration during his tenure, according to MARCA. He faces an investigation after the court received an audit from BDO that "details all the spending of the former FEB president." The report claims that Sáez spent €737,746 at restaurants from '11-14, "an elevated amount that has been one of the points of emphasis of the audit." There was "no segregation of functions, as the same person who spent the money authorized the spending." The audit said that Sáez "had four credit cards at once in the name of the FEB, to which he charged €180,000 in four years" (MARCA, 11/1).
