Bastian Schweinsteiger Training With ManU First-Team Again

Bastian Schweinsteiger trained with ManU on Monday morning "for the first time since José Mourinho excluded him from first-team sessions at the start of the season," according to Jamie Jackson of the London GUARDIAN. The former Germany captain was "seen wearing club-branded headgear as he worked under Mourinho's supervision and in one image appears to receive a warm embrace from club captain Wayne Rooney." The move "indicates the manager is considering giving the German a shock recall for Sunday’s trip to Swansea City as Schweinsteiger was named in the 25-man Premier League squad by Mourinho, despite not deeming him part of his plans" (GUARDIAN, 10/31). In London, Jack de Menezes reported Schweinsteiger was banished from the ManU squad earlier this season "after being forced to train either on his own" or with the U23s, while he was told to "clean out his locker in the first-team dressing room with the space required for those players still in Mourinho’s plans." The 32-year-old "looked nailed on for a premature departure," having been signed by Louis van Gaal in a £7M deal from Bayern Munich last summer, but it appears Mourinho is "considering bringing the World Cup winner back into the equation" in an effort to get ManU moving in the right direction (INDEPENDENT, 10/31).
