ITV Unveils Racing Program Team Including Weather Forecaster Lucy Verasamy

ITV unveiled its full team for "when it takes over terrestrial coverage of racing on Sunday night," according to Marcus Armytage of the London TELEGRAPH. If there is a "surprise in the line-up it was that it includes a weather forecaster, Lucy Verasamy, but, as yet, not AP McCoy." Most of the names joining main presenters Ed Chamberlin and Francesca Cumani and betting man Matt Chapman "have already been leaked out during the summer but the new look will have Oli Bell hosting the weekly as yet unnamed racing morning magazine programme (Morning Line)." Richard Hoiles will be lead commentator with Mark Johnson his number two. Experts will include ex-jockeys Jason Weaver and Luke Harvey, "something of a double act, Hayley Turner and Mick Fitzgerald with Brian Gleeson providing an Irish perspective." Brough Scott will be "a regular guest offering his views 30 years after he presented ITV’s coverage." Reporters include Alice Plunkett, Rishi Persad and Sally Ann Grassick and "while they will be trying to forecast winners Verasamy, an ITV personality who the producers hope will cast racing’s net over younger viewers, will be forecasting the weather" (TELEGRAPH, 10/17).
