FIFA has appointed Nielsen to provide the official market research for the Confederations Cup 2017 and the 2018 World Cup. Through this multi-year agreement, Nielsen's sports division, Nielsen Sports, will be a branded licensee responsible for providing information on public opinion and expectations in relation to the tournaments to FIFA. Nielsen Sports will provide detailed data and analytics to football's governing body across a range of projects, including providing solutions in market research and media evaluation (Nielsen Sports).

According to Kommersant, although the broadcaster banned third party sites from using its videos back in August, "this is the first time it has taken legal action against one."
However, Rambler & Co Deputy DG Dmitry Sergeyev "has claimed that his company strictly abides by legislation and will continue to do so."

Eleven Sports Network has been named "Broadcaster of the Year" at the SAT Krier Awards 2016 ceremony in Karkow, Poland. The network, which only launched in Poland in Aug. '15, was one of three nominees selected by the general public through an online vote, and was awarded the top prize by a judging panel consisting of editors and industry experts (Eleven Sports Network).
Virtual reality production company Voke has partnered with media conglomerate Star India to deliver live sporting events in VR to fans in India.
Star India, with its eight Star Sports channels and Hotstar video streaming service, has established itself as the leading sports provider in India. All Kabaddi World Cup matches will be streamed live by Hotstar (Voke).
