French National Rugby League President PAUL GOZE was reelected to his position at the LNR general assembly on Tuesday. Goze won 97% of the votes and will serve his second term of four years. He was first elected in ’12, succeeding PIERRE-YVES REVOL (LNR). ... PAOLO MALDINI has reportedly been "offered the role of technical director" by AC Milan's future CEO MARCO FASSONE. It has "already been decided that Fassone will come in if and when" Sino-Europe Sports completes its takeover of the Rossoneri. The Chinese consortium is "looking for a club legend" to act as a symbol of its new regime. MilanNews reported that Maldini's all-time record appearance holder "has been offered the role of technical director after a meeting with Fassone" (FOOTBALL ITALIA, 10/4). ... CSM Sport & Entertainment appointed sports marketing exec ROB MCQUEEN as president, CSM North America, bolstering its senior leadership structure in the region. McQueen will be responsible for building and leading CSM's consulting group in North America, along with integrating and growing the current JMI operations in the U.S. He will report to CSM North America CEO JEFF SHIFRIN (CSM). ... Discovery has hired GUNNAR WIEDENFELS as CFO, "poaching the finance chief" from German broadcaster ProSiebenSat.1. Wiedenfels will join Discovery next April and "fill the shoes of ANDREW WARREN, who had previously announced he was leaving the group." The new CFO will be based in N.Y. and report to Discovery CEO & President DAVID ZASLAV. Wiedenfels joins after seven years at ProSiebenSat.1 and has been at the company "as it seeks to diversify from a broadcaster to a broader media group." Before ProSieben, he was a "management consultant at McKinsey & Company" (DIGITAL TV EUROPE, 10/4). ... Delaware North has named CARLOS BERNAL president of Sportservice, its sports concessions firm. Bernal, Sportservice’s COO & interim president since November, replaces former President JOHN WENTZELL, who left the company late last year. Bernal's relationship with Sportservice dates to '86, when he served as GM at the old Chicago Stadium. Prior to rejoining Delaware North, Bernal was CEO of Wagamama North America, a Japanese-themed restaurant chain (THE DAILY). ... The FIA announced that JEAN-BAPTISTE PINTON, who joined the FIA on July 1, replaced DAMIEN CLERMONT as chief administrative officer from Oct. 1. Pinton is responsible for the strategic direction of the FIA support services and coordinates the everyday administrative and financial activities of the FIA. He reports directly to FIA President JEAN TODT (FIA). 

COACHES/MANAGERS: League Championship side Cardiff City "parted company" with Manager PAUL TROLLOPE following a start to the season that has seen the club beaten seven times in its opening 11 games. A club statement also confirmed that assistant coach LENNIE LAWRENCE and Performance Dir RYLAND MORGANS had "left the club." Trollope was appointed to succeed RUSSELL SLADE in May this year "after previously working on the club's coaching staff" (ESPN.com, 10/4). ... LUCAS ALCARAZ is returning to La Liga side Granada "to embark on a third stint as coach." Granada "parted company with PACO JEMEZ last week." A club statement said, "Granada has reached a preliminary agreement with Lucas Alcaraz to become the new coach of the team until the end of the season" (ESPN.com, 10/3).
