Media Notes: Insight TV To Join German HD+ Platform On Astra

Insight TV, the TV channel for fans of "action, adventure and extreme sports," will become part of German HDTV platform HD+ on Astra (19.2 degrees East) on Tuesday, "increasing the line-up to a total of 22 channels." For operating company TV Entertainment Reality Network, the collaboration with HD+ marks an "important step to gain a stronger foothold in the German market" (BROADBAND TV NEWS, 9/30).

The Badminton World Federation and Wanda, through its subsidiary Infront Sports & Media, announced a new agreement for the centralized media and sponsorship rights of the BWF Major Events (Sudirman Cup, Thomas & Uber Cup Finals and the World Championships) and for a revamped BWF Series -- encompassing the current BWF World Superseries and Grand Prix Gold events -- to be relaunched for the '18 season. The agreement marks the first time BWF has worked with one global partner for both media and sponsorship rights distribution. Infront will support the federation with its TV production operations -- providing host broadcast, post-production and broadcaster servicing across all BWF Major Events (Infront).
