He led Eibar from '09-16 and "could be one of the candidates" to succeed current President JAVIER TEBAS (MARCA, 9/28). ... Irish champion jump trainer WILLIE MULLINS has "lost 60 horses owned by Ryanair boss MICHAEL O'LEARY in a dispute over training fees." Mullins said that removed horses would be "very hard to replace." Mullins: "We're parting company -- it's basically over fees, I imagine. I put up my fees for the first time in 10 years and Gigginstown chose not to pay them" (London DAILY MAIL, 9/28). ... Former Australian cricketer MAX WALKER died after a "two-year battle against skin cancer," Cricket Australia said on Wednesday. He was 68. A medium-fast bowler, Walker played 34 tests between '72 and '77 and captured 138 wickets at an average of 27.47. He was "among the group of breakaway players" who defected to KERRY PACKER's World Series Cricket in '77, a move that "fundamentally changed" int'l cricket before the players were reinstated in '79 (REUTERS, 9/28). ... Two-time Olympic pole vault champion YELENA ISINBAYEVA will stand in the All-Russian Athletics Federation presidential election this year, she said on Wednesday. The ARAF announced last week that the election would take place on Dec. 9 (REUTERS, 9/28).
