Marketplace Roundup: Melbourne Victory Partners With TCL Electronics

A-League side Melbourne Victory named TCL Electronics Australia a premier partner and its official TV supplier for the '16-17 season. TCL branding will appear on the official Victory media polo and on LED signage at all home games. There will also be opportunities for fans to participate in promotions in association with the club (Melbourne Victory).

A-League side Sydney FC renewed its partnership with vitamin brand Bioglan as its official vitamin provider for the '16-17 season. Bioglan became a Sydney FC sponsor in March. Bioglan’s ongoing support will see the team provided with a range of vitamins and minerals (Sydney FC).

Lifestyle brand Jack Wills announced its sponsorship of the Bath Rugby team to provide official team formalwear, clothing all of Bath’s players for the next two years. This is the first time that Jack Wills has sponsored a professional sports team, although it has a history of supporting the rugby teams of the universities of Oxford and Cambridge in England, where it was an official apparel partner (BATH ECHO, 9/26).

Racing accessories manufacturer R&G expanded its role as official supplier to the British Superbike Championship for a third season, adding to its paddock presence. This will see the Paddock Support Unit return, which will be additionally selling race supplies, along with the Rookies’ Trophy and increased circuit branding. There will also be an increase in the R&G branding that adorns the trackside of all twelve British Superbike rounds, while the R&G Rookies’ Trophy will be returning for a third year (R&G).

Finance firm Investec -- already a sponsor of English Test cricket and Premier League football -- is now backing U.K.-based bloodstock company Tattersalls. Investec will sponsor Tattersalls' October Yearling Sale, which is scheduled for Oct. 4-6. Tattersalls is Europe’s premier yearling sale and has provided the world’s highest-priced yearling for the past four years (BD LIVE, 9/27).

Basketball Bundesliga (BBL) club s.Oliver Würzburg has renewed its partnership with auto industry supplier Brose for another two years until the end of the '17-18 season. Brose's logo will continue to be featured on the players' shorts, as well as on boards in camera view and on the court (s.Oliver Würzburg). The deal has an estimated value of €350,000 ($392,600) per year (SPONSORs, 9/27).
