EPL Side West Ham Co-Chairs Write Letter Vowing To Turn Things Around

EPL side West Ham co-Chairs David Gold and David Sullivan said that injuries and key decisions "have gone against them this season" but they are doing "everything they can to fix the situation," according to the BBC. They said in a letter to fans, "We know we are letting in too many goals and not scoring enough. But be assured we will sort the problems out." West Ham has lost its last four Premier League games, conceding 14 goals, and is 18th in the EPL (BBC, 9/26). REUTERS' Ian Rodricks reported the letter added, "There is no question that this has not been the start to the season that we were looking for but rest assured we are doing everything we can to fix the situation. The facts are there for everyone to see." Record signing Andre Ayew "faces a long spell on the sidelines after injuring his thigh in August," while left back Arthur Masuaku is expected to be out for at least six weeks due to ligament damage. Gold and Sullivan added, "There have been factors which have contributed to the poor start with injuries to key players and some key decisions which have gone against us" (REUTERS, 9/27).
