Media Notes: Sport24 To Show Live NHL, World Cup Of Hockey 2016 Matches

Sport 24, the only 24/7 inflight sports channel, will show live coverage of both the NHL and the World Cup of Hockey 2016 on its two channels. Every World Cup of Hockey tournament game will be shown live on either Sport 24 or Sport 24 Extra, starting on Sept. 17. The channels, which are owned and operated by IMG, will also show three games a week from the NHL, beginning with the season-opener on Oct. 12 (IMG). 

Team EnVyUs' win over Splyce in Sunday's Call of Duty World League Championship was the most viewed esports event in Call of Duty history. Broadcast across five languages, the worldwide peak concurrent viewership topped the previous record for Call of Duty esports events by more than 40%, including previous COD Championship and Stage Finals. Combined, the Call of Duty Championship matches surpassed more than 20 million views (Activision). 

Online livestreaming sports platform FanSeat will host all of the matches of the French ice hockey league Ligue Magnus this season on www.fanseat.com. Fans can pay €7.99 ($8.97) per month to watch all regular season and Coupe de France matches on their PC, mobile or tablets (Ligue Magnus).

French TV channel Numéro 23 will broadcast French top-tier basketball league Pro A live this season. The first match to appear on Numéro 23 will be the “Champions Match.” The game, between France champion Asvel and Coupe de France champion Le Mans, “will be rebroadcast on SFR Sport 2 and Ma Chaine Sport.” Numéro 23 is 39% owned by NextRadio TV, parent company of Altice which owns SFR Sport (MEDIA SPORTIF, 9/9).
