Event Notes: Prix De L’Arc De Triomphe To Be Run At Chantilly On Oct. 2

The Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe "will not return to its natural home at Longchamp" for the '17 season after it became apparent that the timeframe for the redevelopment of the course "was not feasible." Europe’s "premier middle-distance race" will be run at Chantilly next month with the builders, Bouygues, in the middle of the rebuilding program, "but it had been thought everything would be ready to return to the Paris venue next year." No decision will be made on the venue for the '17 renewal "as that will be confirmed by France Galop’s administrative council only after this year’s running" (London GUARDIAN, 9/13).

The Int'l Cycling Union (UCI) and the Int'l Professional Cyclists Group Association (AIGCP) have agreed on a number of adjustments to the 2016 UCI Road World Championships Men's Team Time Trial format, ensuring a maximum of UCI WorldTeams will take part in the event to be held in just a few weeks in Doha, Qatar. Acknowledging teams' concerns raised by the AIGCP, the UCI has opted for a non-compulsory format for UCI WorldTeams. As a result, no UCI WorldTour points will be awarded, bringing the Men's Team Time Trial event in line with the rest of the UCI Road World Championship events. It was also agreed that the model of the event shall be revised for future editions in collaboration with the AIGCP (UCI).
