The recently launched Olympic Channel has announced that it will broadcast 35 upcoming live events across a variety of sports, in partnership with a number of int'l federations, according to Max Winters of INSIDE THE GAMES. These include ice hockey Olympic qualifiers for PyeongChang 2018, as well as "a number of other world-class competitions from around the globe." The Channel is "widely seen as the most significant development to come out of IOC President Thomas Bach’s Olympic Agenda 2020 reform initiative." Some of the events that will be broadcast include the Int'l Triathlon Union World Triathlon Grand Final, the World Table Tennis Cadet Challenge and the 2016 3x3 Basketball World Tour Final. In addition to these events, the Olympic Channel team is currently working with int'l federations to create "innovative partnerships," including event coverage, highlights, magazine shows, news coverage and original programming with "further announcements expected before the end of the year" (INSIDE THE GAMES, 8/29).
