West Ham Launching Investigation After Fans Complain Of No Seats At Olympic Stadium

EPL side West Ham is "investigating after fans complained that there were no seats for them during the match against Bournemouth -- despite the club imploring them not to stand up after the first two matches," according to Sam Cunningham of the London DAILY MAIL. A picture emerged online on Sunday "revealing that a block of seats were missing forcing supporters to stand or perch on concrete steps instead." One fan tweeted, "Block 214 row 73 no seats. Not happy." West Ham is "looking into the issue." The club was "forced to reduce the maximum capacity of the Olympic Stadium" from 60,000 to 57,000 for its first Premier League match there by Newham Council "after too many home fans stood for large periods of the first two matches," against Domzale in the Europa League and the marquee friendly with Juventus (DAILY MAIL, 8/21).
