La Liga Clubs Sign Four New Jersey Sponsors, Pushing Number Of Jersey Deals To 13

La Liga's '16-17 season will begin on Friday with "more than half of its teams featuring sponsors on the shirts," according to Manuel Segura of MUNDO DEPORTIVO. Thirteen of the 20 clubs will have front-of-shirt advertisers. The value of these sponsorships "keeps increasing." The seven clubs that will not have shirt sponsors are Alavés, Real Betis, Celta Vigo, Granada, Leganés, Osasuna and Valencia. The 13 brands sponsoring La Liga shirts include nine that did so last season and four new ones: Plus500 (Atlético Madrid), Rastar Group (Espanyol), Marathon Bet (Málaga) and Gijón (Sporting). Of the 13 shirt sponsors, seven are Spanish and six are foreign (MUNDO DEPORTIVO, 8/18).
