Former Brasileiro side Santos President LUIS ÁLVARO DE OLIVEIRA RIBEIRO, who was in charge of the club when it sold Neymar to Barcelona in '13, died on Wednesday in São Paulo. He was the president of Santos from '09-14, when "he had to step down for health reasons" (MUNDO DEPORTIVO, 8/17). ... WLADIMIR KLITSCHKO said that he will take TYSON FURY to court "to ensure their world heavyweight title rematch still takes place." The pair "are due to fight" on Oct. 29 at Manchester Arena. Klitschko said, "Unfortunately, Team Fury is trying to change the terms of already signed contract multiple times, and it is going on endlessly" (BBC, 8/17). ... MARIO BALOTELLI could be in line for a move to Championship side Wolverhampton Wanderers "thanks to his links with super agent JORGE MENDES and JOSE MOURINHO." Balotelli has "no future" with Liverpool under Manager JÜRGEN KLOPP. Wolverhampton wants a new striker "as part of the Chinese revolution under new owners Fosun" and Mourinho has a connection at Molineux, where Mendes has been recruiting players from Portugal to work under new Manager WALTER ZENGA. Balotelli spent last season on loan at AC Milan and "has been trying to find a new club for the coming season" (London EXPRESS, 8/17).
