Basketball Bundesliga Club Exec Criticizes League's TV Situation, Calls For More Coverage

Basketball Bundesliga (BBL) club Brose Baskets exec Michael Stoschek "has again criticized the league's TV situation," according to Nils Lehnebach of SPONSORs. Stoschek: "The TV situation for German basketball remains absolutely unsatisfying." He added that the broadcasts of partner Deutsche Telekom are top quality, but they do not have the reach. Stoschek voiced the same type of criticism in the aftermath of last season's finals. Stoschek, who has been in talks with BBL CEO Stefan Holz and League President Alexander Reil, said, "We are in extensive discussions and are in agreement that the current marketing and TV situation surrounding German basketball is absolutely unsatisfying." The club exec calls for a renegotiation of the contract with Telekom, in particular he's calling for more coverage and in the best case a weekly magazine show (SPONSORs, 8/16).
