Experienced Rugby League administrator ANDREW HILL has been appointed CEO of the Rugby League World Cup 2017 Organizing Committee. His appointment follows the recent resignation of MICHAEL BROWN. Hill has agreed to terms with the National Rugby League that will allow him to stand aside from his position as GM of league integration and game development (NRL). ... Tottenham Head of Recruitment PAUL MITCHELL will leave the club at "a future date to be mutually agreed." Mitchell, 34, followed Manager MAURICIO POCHETTINO from Southampton to White Hart Lane in '14 (BBC, 8/10). ... EPL side Leicester City Manager CLAUDIO RANIERI signed a new four-year contract with the club. Ranieri joins key players KASPER SCHMEICHEL, WES MORGAN and JAMIE VARDY in extending his contract. He said, "The energy that exists here -- from the owners and the staff, to the players and supporters -- is something very special." Morgan called it "fantastic news," saying, "He played a big part in our success last season and all the boys are right here behind him" (BBC, 8/10). ... Telemundo named Major League Soccer Dir of Media Sales & Partnerships DEREK GAMBLE director of World Cup and Olympic sales. Gamble also has had prior stints at YES Network, CBS and Octagon (THE DAILY).
