German Football League's Super Cup Match Secures Nine Partners, Including Newbie UPS

The German Football League (DFL) has secured nine partners for the 2016 German Super Cup, including newcomer UPS. The matchup between Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund will take place at Dortmund's Signal Iduna Park on Sunday. The DFL's marketing partner, Lagardère Sports, signed deals with bet-at-home.com, Falken Tyre Europe, Hörmann, Lieferando, Sky, Targobank, UPS, Vodafone and Volkswagen. Eight of the nine companies were also featured in this year's Bundesliga and 2nd Bundesliga relegation games. The only new partner is logistics company UPS. Sunday's game will mark the company's first large-scale sponsorship activation in German professional football. All partners will receive marketing presence on LED boards in camera view and on regular sideline signage. Lagardère Sports has been the official stadium marketing partner of the Super Cup since '10 (Lagardère Sports). SPONSORs' Nils Lehnebach reported UPS recently signed a deal with Bundesliga club VfL Wolfsburg, the company's first in the league (SPONSORs, 8/9).
