Nice Will Open Ligue 1 Season With Homage To Victims Of July 14 Terror Attack

Ligue 1 side Nice will open its season on Sunday against Stade Rennais, one month to the day after the terrorist attack that took the lives of 85 people on the Promenade des Anglais in Nice. To honor the victims, Nice will wear a specially designed white jersey. Void of any logos except the club and kit provider, the jersey will display a heart featuring the names of the 85 victims. It was designed by Nice-based agency Comback. In an act of solidarity, Stade Rennais will also wear a jersey without sponsors featuring the heart. The fans have been encouraged to also wear white, and an homage to each of the victims will take place before the opening whistle (Nice).
