Go4it Co-Founder Says Rio-Based Agency Will Emphasize Surfing Throughout Games

Brazilian sports marketing agency Go4it, which launched last October, is on the verge of a hectic few weeks around its office in the Rio de Janeiro neighborhood of Leblon. With the 2016 Olympics officially beginning with Friday's Opening Ceremony, the new agency -- which identifies its three pillars as content, consulting and technology -- has a major opportunity to improve its reputation and gain traction among the world's top athletes and brands. Go4it's plans include hosting frequent cocktail events at its centrally-located HQ and involvement with the House of Switzerland. It will also be helping Roger Federer with some of the tennis player's logistics. Go4it co-Founder Cesar Villares said, "It's a dream come true to have the Olympic Games in Brazil. ... This is a very important event and we feel that this is a time that we can get these people to speak about what we can leverage better."

SURF'S UP: He said that following the news on Wednesday that surfing will be an Olympic sport in '20, his organization's relationship with the World Surf League and well-known Brazilian surfer Gabriel Medina will be a point of emphasis. One boost for the sport will be Medina's presence in Samsung's Olympic campaign, where he is featured alongside the likes of British diver Tom Daley, French Paralympian Arnaud Assoumani and U.S. runner Alysia Montaño, among others. "We're going to try to promote surf as much as we can with the partners and clients," Villares said. "This can be the most important moment for surf in history. ... Surfing in Brazil is really huge now. They have idols. It's a good moment for us to activate, especially now with the announcement it has become an Olympic sport."
