Eurosport Expands Wimbledon Rights, Increases Coverage Of Spain's La Vuelta

Eurosport extended its partnership with The All England Club, Wimbledon, to present all matches of The Championships live in an additional 16 countries. The new agreement means Eurosport will show all four Grand Slam tournaments in 25 countries across Europe. The announcement marks a significant expansion, considering Eurosport held no Wimbledon rights as recently as '14, before showing The Championships in Belgium from '15. From next year's Championships, Eurosport will show all matches on its channels and Eurosport Player service in Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Finland, Hungary, Iceland, Kosovo, Macedonia, Montenegro, the Netherlands, Norway, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia and Sweden. The three-year agreement includes exclusive TV and digital rights for the '17 to '19 tournaments, marking the first time Eurosport will show Wimbledon in the 16 markets.

LA VUELTA COVERAGE: Eurosport also announced that it will add an hour to its daily live coverage of La Vuelta, Spain's cycling race which marks the final Grand Tour race of the season. Previously broadcasting a minimum two hours a day, Eurosport has secured the rights to show a minimum three hours of live La Vuelta coverage per stage of the tour from '16 until '20. La Vuelta will be shown exclusively across Europe and Asia under an on-going five-year agreement (Eurosport).
