Four-Time World Champion Sebastian Vettel Says German GP Essential For Youth

Four-time world champion Sebastian Vettel said that "the fate of the German F1 Grand Prix will impact the future of German motorsports," according to the SID. Vettel: "A Formula 1 race in Germany is important for the next generation of drivers because it motivates them in a special way." German automobile club ADAD President Hermann Tomczyk "described the connection between Germany's youth development and its high number of drivers in F1." Tomczyk: "All four German F1 drivers have won titles in our racing series in the past, it's a testament to the sustainable youth support and makes us a little proud." Hockenheim, which will host this year's German GP on Sunday, has a contract in place for '18. However, F1's high hosting fees threaten the future of the German GP (SID, 1/8).
