Media Notes: ATN Secures Canadian Broadcast Rights For Global Cricket Competitions

Asian Television Network Int'l, Canada's largest South Asian Broadcaster, has acquired exclusive cricket rights for Cricket Australia, England & Wales Cricket Board, Cricket Ireland and Caribbean Premier League. The rights consists of all the games played in Australia from '16-21, including Big Bash League -- men's and women's, three bi-lateral series played in England in '16 and '17, three bi-lateral and one tri-series played in Ireland from '16-18 and the ongoing CPL 2016. All the series acquired will be aired on CBN and ATN Cricket Plus and will feature top teams like India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Australia, England, South Africa, New Zealand, Bangladesh, Ireland and the West Indies. ATN already holds the exclusive Canadian rights for the Board of Control for Cricket in India, Cricket South Africa and New Zealand Cricket, which makes ATN the largest cricket distributor in Canada (ATN).

PRINTING PRESS: German media company Axel Springer will re-launch a daily sports newspaper after 10 years. The paper will launch initially only in Munich and Stuttgart. The first issue of "Fußball Bild" will publish with the start of the new Bundesliga season on Aug. 26 and cost €1 ($1.10). The paper will be published daily, from Monday-Saturday, with an initial circulation of 60,000 (SPONSORs, 7/25).
