Franchise Notes: Salford Owner Koukash To Decide Future After Season

Super Rugby side Salford Red Devils Owner Marwan Koukash said that he will "decide his future" at the club "at the end of the season." Koukash "first questioned his ongoing involvement" after Salford failed to overturn a six-point deduction for breaching salary cap rules. He said, "I'm absolutely tired physically, mentally and emotionally and I just want to wait until the end of the year. My family suffered recently and I just need that time to think it over. I'll decide at the end of the season what I will do" (BBC, 7/25).

FREE RIDE: League Championship side Birmingham City is "laying on free coach travel" for its match with Wigan. Blues have teamed up with principal sponsor 888sport "to provide fans with a free trip to the DW Stadium" on Aug. 16. A club statement said, "A fleet of eight coaches have been allocated and tickets are available on a first come, first served basis to supporters with a valid away match ticket" (BIRMINGHAM MAIL, 7/25).
