La Liga Side Espanyol Begins Capital Increase, Issuing 25 Million Shares For $6.60 Each

La Liga side Espanyol "has begun a capital increase," according to SPORT. On June 30 at the club's extraordinary general assembly, shareholders agreed to a capital increase of up to €150M ($165M) through the issuing of 25 million shares at a price of €6 ($6.60) per share. The term to acquire shares "will last one month -- from July 20 to Aug. 19." All shareholders who held a stake in Espanyol before June 30 "will have the right to acquire shares, and will be able to acquire 61,470 new shares for every one that they already possess" (SPORT, 7/20).
