Barcelona, Real, Atlético Reveal Kits, With Barça To Sport Purple For First Time

Barcelona's away kit will be purple for the '16-17 season. It will be the first time the club has worn the color. The away shirt also features pink details, including a modern v-neck collar with a pink band at the back. The sleeves and the upper back are infused with black, and the away kit will also see the players wear pink socks (Barcelona).

REAL MADRID BRINGS BACK PURPLE
: In London, Michael Gadd reported Real Madrid unveiled its new white home kit for the '16-17 season. Gareth Bale, Marcelo, James Rodríguez and Karim Benzema modeled "a retro design home strip, similar to the one worn by the club" in the '80s, in the traditional white. Real Madrid's purple away kit "is minimalist in design with its white adidas stripes on the shoulders, and white trim on the neck and sleeves." The last time the club's away kit was purple was the '10-11 season (DAILY MIRROR, 7/14).

ATLÉTICO GOES RETRO: In Madrid, Miguel Pérez reported to celebrate the 50th anniversary of its stadium, Atlético Madrid "will wear a home kit inspired by the design used during the '66-67 season." The new first-team shirt features three wide red stripes on a white background, "a design that recalls the shirt from '66-67 as well as the intense stripes formed by the upper bleachers at the Vicente Calderón" (SPORT, 7/14).
