Scottish Side Hamilton Academical's New Douglas Park To Be Renamed

Scottish Premiership side Hamilton Academical's New Douglas Park will be renamed as part of a £750,000 ($985,600) sponsorship deal, according to Andrew Scott of STV. The club's stadium will now be called The SuperSeal Stadium, after the team "signed an agreement with the home improvements company." The whole squad was "in place to show off" its new home kit, which also features SuperSeal's logo (STV, 7/13). The PA reported Hamilton Manager Martin Canning does not expect the club’s £750,000 sponsorship deals to "improve his playing budget." The club also secured separate deals with ZL Group, TigerTurf, Equi’s ice cream shop and NetBet. But Canning "is unlikely to receive extra funds," with Hamilton set to put money into the youth system that has produced the likes of James McCarthy, James McArthur and West Ham’s Stephen Hendrie. Canning: "When you look at that type of money, it will go where the club prides itself on, putting back through the youth academy and trying to bring through the next crop of stars" (PA, 7/13).
