PR agency Threepipe co-Founder EDDIE MAY joined Hanover "to lead a new creative comms offering." The launch "follows the departure of CLAIRE FURLONG," who joined Hanover last year and launched its sports practice in November, and has this month taken the role of GM of media and communications with the Int'l Cricket Council in Dubai. May, who arrived at the agency last month, "takes on the role of MD of The Playbook," supported by Creative Dir LEIGH IRELAND, and GAVIN MEGAW, who also "leads Hanover's corporate and brand division as director" (PR WEEK, 7/12). ... Coca-Cola has named former Visa Senior VP/Global Brand, Product & Sponsorship Marketing RICARDO FORT global VP of assets and partnerships. He will lead all aspects of the marketing division's worldwide assets strategy, sponsorship management, event implementation and partnership development. A veteran of Olympic marketing, Fort left Visa during a reorganization in February. Coca-Cola declined comment pending an official announcement (Ben Fischer, Staff Writer). ... Digital consulting firm Omnigon named digital design firm Huge VP/Operations ANDREW SILVER to the newly created role of COO, reporting directly to co-Founder & CEO IGOR ULIS (Omnigon). ... The exec board of the Int'l Pentathlon Union (UIPM) confirmed the reappointment of Secretary General SHINY FANG for a second Olympic cycle. Fang, from China, will continue to lead UIPM throughout the four years leading up to and including the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo (UIPM). ... MARK WARBURTON has agreed to a contract extension as Scottish Premiership side Rangers manager until the summer of ’19. Warburton said that he and his assistant, DAVID WEIR, would “sign new contracts this week, which take them beyond their current deals.” Warburton: “I’m all agreed with the club. David and myself will sign another year to our contracts” (PA, 7/12).
