Marketplace Roundup: Paris St. Germain Opening Pop-Up Boutique In L.A.

French Ligue 1 champion Paris St. Germain, which is heading to the U.S. for pre-season Int'l Champions Cup matches this month, announced it will "open a pop-up shop" in L.A. with Parisian boutique Colette. Called "La Galerie by Paris Saint-Germain," the West Hollywood pop-up shop will "celebrate sport, fashion, art and design." It will feature "limited edition products including PSG’s collaborations Nike, Levi’s, Beats by Dr Dre, Jack’s Surfboards, Jason Markk, Chocolate and Primitive." The store will open July 22 (INSIDE WORLD FOOTBALL, 7/12).

ITALIAN JOB: Serie B side Bari "signed a three-year kit supply deal" with Umbro. The brand will "provide matchday and training wear" to the club from the start of the '16-17 season. The club "marked the deal with the launch of a new logo as well as new first and third strips, with the away jersey to follow later in the summer" (SOCCEREX, 7/11).

KENYAN RUGBY SUPPORT: The Kenya Rugby Union and Tatu City, the mixed-used, mixed-income urban development near Nairobi, announced a partnership agreement that will support upcoming test matches as well as youth rugby development. The sponsorship sees Tatu City support Kenya’s upcoming home tests: the two-match series against Hong Kong on Aug. 23 and 27, and the Uganda fixture in the Rugby Afrique/Elgon Cup clash on July 30. The deal includes a commitment to partner with KRU's "Get Into Rugby" program which works with children to fulfill their growing passion for the sport (KRU).

Turkish Airlines has "confirmed the renewal of its partnership with Mediapro," the company that operates the television broadcasts for Spain's La Liga. The agreement sees Turkish Airlines branding "appear behind the goal in the stadiums of 18 out of the 20 clubs in La Liga." Barcelona and Real Madrid are not included in the deal "because of their existing exclusive deals in the airline category with Qatar Airways and Emirates respectively" (SOCCEREX, 7/11).

Mercedes-Benz announced a multi-year renewal with The R&A to continue as official car and official patron of The Open. More than 100 Mercedes-Benz vehicles will make up a fleet to transport players, caddies, families and VIPs to and from the venue in Troon, as well as all on-course evacuation vehicles. This year's Championship will see new additions to the multifaceted collaboration between Mercedes-Benz and The R&A, including exclusive digital content for The Open fans (Mercedes-Benz). 

World Sailing announced Rolex extended its sponsorship of the World Sailor of the Year Awards for '16. Rolex has been the title sponsor of the Rolex World Sailor of the Year Awards since '01. The '16 event will take place during the World Sailing Annual Conference in Barcelona, Spain, in November (World Sailing). 

Le Sports and Chinese herbal tea brand JDB announced a "strategic marketing agreement." As part of the deal, the two parties "will join forces on advertising and marketing through digital coverage of several major sports competitions." These will include the Chinese Super League, CFA Cup, Wimbledon Championship, WTA and MLS. As well as streaming, the two companies "will collaborate on branding through Le Sports’ two sports programs, Super Match Day and Le Sports News" (YUTANG SPORTS, 7/11).

Alisports has "recently signed a strategic partnership deal with International Sports Group," the exclusive operating agency of Nike Int'l Sports Camps in Greater China. The pair have "now launched their co-branded online stores." They are also "looking to set up Nike basketball and football camps" in seven Chinese cities, namely Hong Kong, Shanghai, Hangzhou, Wuxi, Changsha, Hefei and Guiyang. Digital media will be "introduced into the project to improve the sharing of training details" (YUTANG SPORTS, 7/12).

South African Premier Division football side Cape Town City FC announced that Umbro SA "will be the official kit supplier in a long-term deal." The club will start donning the brands' emblem when the season starts in August (SPORT 24, 7/8).

Second Bundesliga club FC Kaiserslautern renewed its sponsorship deal with state lottery operator Lotto Rheinland-Pfalz until the end of '18. As part of the deal, the company will continue to receive ad space in camera view and other marketing presence (Kaiserslautern).

Second Bundesliga side Fortuna Dusseldorf and Japanese technology company Hitachi extended their partnership. As part of the deal, Hitachi will receive ad space in camera view along with a ticket and hospitality package (Fortuna Dusseldorf).
