Football Notes: PSSI To Pick New Chief After FIFA Lifts Suspension

The Indonesian FA (PSSI) said on Tuesday that "it will elect a new chief in October as it seeks to get back on its feet" after FIFA lifted a year-long suspension on the country. Football in Southeast Asia's biggest nation "has been in crisis after a row between the sports ministry and the association" led to FIFA handing down a ban for government meddling in May last year (AFP, 6/22).

The Chinese FA "is planning to make a policy adjustment within the Chinese Super League." The CFA will "reduce the number of foreign players a club can register, in time for the 2018 season." A tentative plan "is to be launched for next season to allow clubs to adjust their squads before changing the 4+1 foreign player quota to 3+1." At present, the CSL "can register 4 foreign players in their squad as well as 1 foreigner from another AFC member country" (YUTANG SPORTS, 6/21).
